Project Overview

Space Trash is an interactive video game designed to assess cognitive performance through rapid motor tasks. Inspired by the Object Hit & Avoid (OHA) task of the KINARM robotic assessment tool, the game aims to replicate key behavioral metrics to identify early signs of cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

Research Questions

  1. Can we reproduce the behavioral outcomes of the Object Hit & Avoid task from the KINARM system?
  2. Can we design a game that is both engaging and diagnostically valuable?
  3. What kinds of data are available through a video game system that can support early dimentia diagnosis?
